Susanna Werth, PhD, is the chief financial manager and scientific advisor at TerraIntel, a geospatial intelligence company dedicated to making land-stability and water risks visible, measurable, and actionable.
At TerraIntel, Dr. Werth defines the financial and scientific vision, guiding the development of scalable analytics that integrate satellite observations with physics-based modeling. She oversees the translation of complex geodetic and hydrologic data into robust, decision-ready products, ensuring scientific rigor while enabling practical use across government, industry, and infrastructure sectors.
Dr. Werth is an internationally recognized expert in satellite gravimetry, InSAR, GNSS, and hydrogeodesy, with more than two decades of experience spanning academia, federally funded research, and applied geospatial analytics. Her work is distinguished by its ability to fuse multi-sensor satellite data with physical and data-driven models to resolve groundwater dynamics, and land subsidence at management-relevant scales.
Her track record includes leading and co-leading multi-million-dollar projects funded by NASA and the U.S. Department of Defense, and authoring over 35 peer-reviewed publications in leading journals such as Nature, Science Advances, Remote Sensing of Environment, and Water Resources Research. Her research has contributed foundational insights into groundwater depletion, aquifer mechanics, and infrastructure vulnerability in regions ranging from the U.S. Southwest and coastal North America to major cities and deltas worldwide.
